In this 1950’s ranch, the home was very compartmentalized which was the style of the day. The wall that separated these two rooms was replaced by a peninsula of cabinets that seamlessly combined the two spaces into one large entertaining space… perfect for family and friends to gather. The seldom-used hearth room now has been repurposed as a functional entertaining space that will now be used. The eat-in kitchen is now more open and inviting. Bold use of white cabinets and granite tops make the kitchen timeless.
In the basement, the space was converted into a large recreation room complete with built in bunk beds for sleepovers. The laundry was separated into its own space away from the living area. A full bath completes the transformation and makes the space both livable and practical.
The net result of both projects was to give a needed facelift to a home that had great bones and is sure to provide updated spaces for this homeowner and the next.
